DEAD MALL

Visited a dead mall today. About 75 % of the stores were vacant or shuttered and only one escalator worked inside the mall. There was NO air conditioning in 90% of the mall and some stores used fans or nothing. It was actually hard to breathe. Very sad to see the place in such disarray. There were huge pot holes in the parking lot which were not repaired and the SEARS sign is still visiable. Very depressing.

POST COVID?

I found out that a childhood friend died of COVID recently. He was just a few years older than me and he left behind a wife and children. His picture was online, but I still recognized his face. It bothered me more than I thought it would as we had parted ways when I was 12.

The head of the Dept. of the US Treasury also recently got COVID and was "working" from home. There is a new COVID variant out there and supposedly could be a Summer flare up of the virus.

People have taken for granted that COVID is still out there taking lives and leaving a path of destruction.

I try to live each day to the fullest for tomorrow you could end up a slab. Alas.
