My favorite mall has always been the Livingston Mall, just because it was really a Middle Class mall and genuinely accessible and affordable with SEARS, MACYS, LORD AND TAYLOR as well as a music and book store, BURGER KING and a FOOD COURT. There was even an APPLEBYS Restaurant for some time before they closed.
You could spend your day at LIVINGSTON MALL and get just about every non essential item you needed to feel that you were an active consumer pursuing the American Dream. Now the main mall is closed except for derelict roller skaters and trespassers bent on illegal hijinks'. My beloved memorabilia store has even been closed while MACYS is closing out before it shuts down. The BARNES AND NOBLE book store remains on life support for the time being and then the glorious memories come to an end.
I remember LENSCRAFTERS, SBARRO, HERMANS, the DOLLAR STORE and so many more stores in the LIVINGSTON MALL that are no more. It is with sadness that I see that the zombie mall in DAWN OF THE DEAD had more life than the current LIVINGSTON MALL which apparently was left to die even though it was in an affluent area and was never upgraded.
What comes next remains to be seen as the land on and surrounding LIVINGSTON MALL is huge and open to vast redevelopment.
All I have left are zombie memories of JIFFYLUBE , SEARS, VICTORIA SECRET etc.
Alas.
