Remember My Love

There is a price for the forbidden
For opening graves in the darkness and dancing with the dead
No use pondering if it was worth it once the deed is done
You have to enjoy the funereal music while you can
Swaying to the rhythm
Before the piper is fully paid
As you realize it is all an illusion within a dream
Even so, you decide how far you dig
How deep you fall
Nothing lasts forever, but a vision of love
Before it fades away oblivious
As you are overcome by memories that will not die
Hold on to what you can keep
As you slide further into the abyss
Make the passionate evenings linger and keep you warm
Hearts grow cold that are not strong and true
In this conflict of bodies and souls
Therein you will discover
Who you really are when truth be told
And which ghosts will haunt you
For the rest of your days
Whispering on the midnight breeze
Of lust and despair
As you lay alone
Remember.
