Graveyard Coffeehouse
Love Is
Love is a mountain to climb
That you can't ascend alone
It is between passion
And warfare
A paradise of the heart
Love is weak
Strong
Love is forever
Gone in an instant
A beautiful lie
That dies screaming
It is strength
Through vulnerability
Faith and disillusion
It is a memory
That will not die
That you feed upon
Like a vampire
For the rest
Of your life
Love is ecstasy
Pain
Pleasure
Hate
The tears you cry
As a cold rain falls
Watching her walk
Into the distance
After goodbye
Love is two bodies
Naked in a sequestered room
An aged couple
Watching television
Hand in hand
Love is the feeling
Of her full lips
On yours
Tongues touching
Slow
Deep
Serpentine
It is dancing the tango
Alone in a darkened room
Illuminated by flickering
Candlelight
Accompanied by shadows
Red devils dancing
On the wall
Love is the climb
The fall
Dying inside
Arising to live again
Seeking another victim
Baring ivory white fangs
It is everything
Nothing
In between
The sound of her voice
Moans
Sighs
As you make love
Her eyes as you fall
Lost in the illusion
Of the moment
Her face in the full moon
Amongst the stars
Love is the pain
In the pit
Of your stomach
When you realize
She is gone forever
The realization
That perhaps
What you had
Was never love at all
But a dream within a dream
Transformed
Into a nightmare
Love is
In your Heart
Mind
Body
Spirit
Within the words
Of a poem
You write
To make your love
Immortal
Sublime
Transcendent
The surreal moments
Of euphoria
You spent in each
Others arms
The warmth inside
That makes all
The hurt and despair
Worthwhile
Love is the courage
It takes
To love again
Even when you forget
What
Love
Is.
