Taiwan leader rushed away in dead of night in armoured vehicle amid major drill
Taiwan President William Lai was seen being guided into an armoured vehicle.
Footage released by Taiwan's Presidential Office showed Mr Lai arriving at the secure facility wearing a flak jacket before receiving briefings and issuing instructions to officials. The exercise, known as "Wan Chun", is designed to rehearse the evacuation of Taiwan's president in the event of war or another national emergency and to ensure the government can continue operating during a crisis.
