Swallow
Death is the swansong
Carried in the talons of this dread dark falcon
Gliding on the winds of living vicissitudes and rank scars
Summer gails and Winter frost
Dead eyes that see forever dreams squashed
Paralyzed mouths solidified into eternal scream
Wishes of the drowning for one more gasp of air
I love you
Always
My darling
In the dark of day
I love you
Silence
Echoes of feelings
Frayed and purged
Nothingness remains
The shadow of a storm.
With each breath exhaled
Counting the smiles with the pain
In rebborn misery
Washing your mouth out with peppermint kisses
Swallow
And
Repeat
As the ghost in the mirror fades away.
