My Lost Love

 In the darkness

Hungry lips catch fire

Then go cold and fly away with the wind

My desire remains like a charred heart

Burned as a sacrifice to Sin

Broken and scattered I collect memories of Love

Interred like a funeral for sensuality and lust

This moment bears witness to the fleeting nature

Of ecstasy and loss

Life moves on in the shadows

A ghost haunted by the past

Yesterday is but a memory of a lie

Placed in a box and buried six feet under ground

A face in a mirror that beckons still

A kiss for the dying

That still burns

The living soul

Waiting for the end

Of nothingness and pain

A memory that will not die

Burning still

Falling into the abyss

That has no end

Just a beginning consumed by flame

There I can forever

Hold you

In my arms

My lost love.
