I have been told before not to live in the past.
As bad as the past may have been, if you live there for a moment, you know just how bad it has been as well as how many good moments you had. It never gets any worse than what you remember because it is done.
The present is the most terrifying because you just don't know if you will ever be happy or how far the abyss goes. And then of course you die.
