Graveyard Coffeehouse

Gothic Night

Darkness rules
There is no fear
Just anticipation
Madmen
Lovers
Fools
Poets
Fighters
Have dreamed of this castle
This night
This woman dressed in onyx
With red trim
Wearing thigh high
Velvet boots
Smiling a wicked smile
Voluptuous
Wanton
Evil in a black dress.

One can almost see
A crimson carriage
Pulled by sable horses
Arriving
With this seductress
I stand
Condemned
At the gallows
The beautiful dark woman
Stepping out
For an evening excursion.

She stands before me
With morbid approval
A mocking grin
Nodding
Before the executioner
Pulls the hood over my eyes
But not before
I can shout
See you in Hell
My darling
See you in Hell
As it all fades to darkness
But there is light
Anon
And I rise again
Naked and alone
To live
Once more.
