Graveyard Coffeehouse

Rose Petals In The Snow

Her breaths
Were like smoke clouds
From the smoldering
Embers
Of our ill fated
Love
As we stood
Frozen in time
Shivering
Wondering
What to say
Looking
Into each
Others eyes
Our lips
Close enough
To steal
One last kiss
Caressing
Your cheek
As you pulled
Away
My mouth
On yours
For an evanescent moment
As the rain
Turned to snow
And you walked away
Tossing the roses
I gave you
Onto the frozen
Pavement
Shattering my heart
Watching
Rose petals
Fly away
Across the snow
Shattered
In the frigid gale
My soul
So cold
Tormented
Knowing
A beautiful dream
Just died
As tears
Ran down
My cheeks
One
By
One
Flowing
Crimson
Rivers
Streaming down
My face
Like rose petals
In
The
Snow.
